Our Mission
To establish, maintain and operate a senior citizens’ centre through which recreational, social, cultural and educational activities and programs are provided.
Programs and Activities of the Society
Our activities include cognitive exercises, games, mah jong, tai chi, video exercises, line dance, odori, karaoke, conversational English, conversational Japanese, outings, and guest speakers.
Schedule
Our group generally meets weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Membership Requirements
To maintain our programming and ensure access to appropriate facilities, the following guidelines apply:
Age Eligibility
Membership and program participation are open to anyone 60 years of age and older.
Annual Membership Fee
A nominal fee of $10.00 per year is collected to help offset general activity and program material costs.
Dual Membership Requirement
Because we utilize shared community spaces, all program participants must also be registered members of the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA) at a cost of $15.00/individual or $30/family.
